There are a lot of ways to customize your workspace. Here are a few steps to help you make effective changes very quickly. If you haven't yet you may want to review the article on styles and theming.
Set the Theme
The theme, in your System Settings, can be customized to include a color palette consistent with your preferences.
In working with Expanco Special Abilities, the logo includes a dark blue that could be used as the darkest color in our palette.
Inspecting their Website we found the blue color has a hexidecimal value #29295b.
Next we used that value to build the color palette for a theme.
Now we can apply the color palette to a new theme.
Click Apply Theme and then Save & Close. You will need to reload your application to see the changes.
Create a Dashboard (Startup Form) Style
In our example, we have a dashboard where users click buttons to access different forms. These buttons will be larger than the other buttons in the application because they're all that's on the screen.
Apply the Dashboard styles to the Dashboard and not individual buttons. This will save time in the future if you need to add new buttons.
Because we've already set the theme, and there is no grid or form in this form, all we have to style is the button image and font.
There is a collapsible group with more options so we've styled the font for that as well.
Notice the Clone Style option at the bottom of the Style Editor.
Create a Secondary Dashboard Style
The other tools available on this form won't be used often so we'll use a style to make them smaller.
Create the Form's Style
The theme applies our color palette to grids and form fields by default. We want to make sure buttons and fonts are consistent throughout the application as well. To do this we'll create another style for forms and use it as the default style on the theme tab.
Search for 'Font' at the top to easily configure all your application fonts with a simple copy and paste.
Apply the Default Style
Now, back to Theme tab in System Settings. Select your new form style as the default style for your application. Once you Save & Close you may need to reload your application to see all of your changes apply.
